For an art carpet developed by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, the work focused on visual research, creative inspiration and the development of different colourways. The process explored Ban’s work, style and visual language to develop colour relationships and palettes that complemented the existing carpet concept.

A selection of colourways was developed to offer different colour variations for the final carpet collection, allowing the designer to choose the combinations that best reflected his original concept and visual language.

From visual research and inspiration to colour development, the project explored how colour can create new possibilities within an existing design.
